101 reasons why we should give.
Introduction:
Some people think that all the church wants is for you to give them your money…
But that’s not true. God wants you to give.
101 reasons to give to God’s kingdom, along with corresponding ESV Bible verses:
- God commands it:Malachi 3:10: “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”
- To honour God:Proverbs 3:9: “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce.”
- To support his church and mission:1 Corinthians 9:14: “In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.”
- To help those in need:Proverbs 19:17: “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.”
